I set out, place outside, πυκινὸν λέχος Od. 23.179; expose on a desert island, S. Ph. 5; expose a new-born child, Hdt. 1.112, Ar. Nu. 531, etc.; τὸν παῖδ’.. ἐξέθηκε δωμάτων E. Ion 344: - so in Pass., τέθνηκε.. θηρσὶν ἐκτεθείς ib. 951; expose, ἑαυτὸν βέλεσι Polem. Cyn. 7: - Med., ἐκτίθεσθαι λείαν εἰς Βιθυνούς export it thither, Plu. Alc. 29.

1. properly: an infant, [Act 7:21]; (Wis. 18:5; (Herodotus 1, 112); Aristophanes nub. 531; Aelian v. h. 2, 7; Lucian, de sacrif. 5, and often).
2. Middle metaphorically, to set forth, declare, expound: [Act 11:4]; τί, [Act 18:26]; [Act 28:23]; ((Aristotle, passim); Diodorus 12, 18; Josephus, Antiquities 1, 12, 2; Athen. 7, p. 278 d.; others).
