1. take the ἄριστον or midday meal, Ar. Nu. 416, Eq. 815; ἠρίστων, opp. ἐδείπνουν, X. Mem. 2.7.12, cf. An. 4.6.21: c. acc. rei, breakfast on, ἴα καὶ ῥόδα Diod.Com. 2.37, cf. Pherecr. 122.5: pf. Pass. impers., ἠρίστηται δ’ ἐξαρκούντως Ar. Ra. 377.

2. eat a second meal, opp. μονοσιτέω, Hp. V M 10, Acut. 30.
