and poet. for οἱ or οἵ, αἱ or αἵ, nom. pl. of ὁ and ὅ, freq. in Hom. (relat., Od. 3.73, 12.63, more freq. demonstr.), not in Ion. Prose, rare in Trag., e.g. A. Pers. 424: but in Dor. and certain other dialects as the Article, Ἱάρων.. καὶ τοὶ Συρακόσιοι SIG 35 Ba (Olympia, V B.C.), etc.

a form front which some N. T. lexicons (e. g. Wahl, Bretschneider, Robinson, Bloomfield, Schirlitz, Harting, others) incorrectly derive τίσουσιν in [2Th 1:9]; see τίνω.
