1 splendour, majesty, of king וַהֲדָרֶ֑ךָ הוֺדְךָ [Psa 45:4]; עָלָיו תְּשַׁוֶּה וְהָדָר הוֺד [21:6], subject ׳י (|| בִּישׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ כְּבוֺדוֺ גָּדוֺל); foretold of the צֶמַח [Zech 6:13] עַלכִּֿסְאוֺ וּמָשַׁל וְיָשַׁב הוֺד וְהוּאיִֿשָּׂא; compare מַלְכוּת הוֺד עָלָיו וַיִּתֵּן [1Chr 29:25] (׳י confers on Solomon); מַלְכוּת ה עָלָיו ָנתְנוּ ׳וְלֹא [Dan 11:21] (of usurper); see also הֹדֹה וְהוֺי [Jer 22:18] in lament for king. Hence also
2 divine splendour, majesty, light & glory which God wears as king: לָבָ֑שְׁתָּ וְהָדָר הוֺד [Psa 104:1] (7 t. joined with הָדָר); compare [Job 40:10] where ׳י addresses Job in irony: הוֺד נוֺרָא עַלאֱֿלוֺהַּ [37:22]; ׳ה לְפָנָיו וְהָדָר [Psa 96:6] = [1Chr 16:26]; also וְהַה וְהַנֵּצַח וְהַתִּפְאֶרֶת ׳וְהַגְּבוּרָה הַגְּדֻלָּה [29:11]; see further הוֺדוֺ שָׁמַיִם כִּסָּה [Hab 3:3] (|| הָאָ֑רֶץ מָֽלְאָה וּתְהִלָּתוֺ); עַלהַֿשָּׁמַיִם הוֺדְךָ אֲשֶׁרתְּֿנָה [Psa 8:2] (|| שִׁמְךָ מָהאַֿדִּיר בְּכָלהָֿאָ֑רֶץ); also וְשָׁמָ֑יִם עַלאֶֿרֶץ הוֺדוֺ [148:13] (|| לְבַדּוֺ שְׁמוֺ נִשְׁגָּב); הוֺדֶ֑ךָ כְּבוֺד הֲדַר [145:4]; of Yahweh's actions מָּעֳלוֺ וְהָדָר הוֺד [111:3]; of his voice י ׳זְהִשְׁמִיעַ קוֺלוֺ אֶתהֿוֺד [Isa 30:30].
3. a. splendour of Israel under divine blessing הוֺדוֺ כַזַּיִת וִיהִי [Hosea 14:7].
b. majesty, dignity, authority of Moses [Num 27:20] (P; only here in Hexateuch) עָלָיו מֵהוֺדְךָ וְנָתַתָּ. Also,
c. manly vigour מֶּןתִּֿתֵּן הוֺדֶ֑ךָ לַאֲחֵרִים [Prov 5:9], in warning against licentiousness; as displayed in outward appearance לְמַשְׁחִית עָלַי נֶהְמַּךְ וְהוֺדִי [Dan 10:8] (|| כֹּחַ).
4 of a horse, majesty, majestic force אֵימָה נַחְרוֺ הוֺד [Job 39:20] the majesty of his snorting (majestic snorting, VB) is a terror; also in simile of Yahweh's dealings with Judah, בַּמִּלְחָמָה הוֺדוֺ כְּסוּס אוֺתָם וְשָׂם [Zech 10:3] and he will make them like the horse of his majesty in battle.
