2. to take oneself away, withdraw: [Joh 5:13], where Chrysostom says that ἐξενευσε is equivalent to ἐξεκλινε; but others derive the form from ἐκνέω, which see (the Sept. for סוּר, [Jdg 4:18] Alex.; פָּנָה, to turn oneself, [Jdg 18:26] Alex.; [2Ki 2:24]; [2Ki 23:16]; (add 3Macc. 3:22; Josephus, Antiquities 7, 4, 2).
