הֲלֹם adverb of place, hither (Arabic hither!) — [Exod 3:5] הֲלֹם אַלתִּֿקְרַב approach not hither, [Judg 18:3]; [20:7]; [1Sam 10:22]; [14:16] and lo, the camp melted away וַהֲלֹם וַיֵּלֶךְ read with ᵐ5 (ἔνθεν καὶ ἔνθεν) Th We Dr וַהֲלֹם הֲלֹם hither and thither i.e. in different directions (compare וָהֵנָּה הֵנָּה [Josh 8:20]), Joshua 8:36; Joshua 8:38; [Ruth 2:14]; הֲלֹם עַד figurative hitherto, thus far (i.e. to this point of dignity and greatness) [2Sam 7:18] (= [1Chr 17:16]). [Psa 73:10], if text be sound, הֲלֹם must mean thither (that is, after the persons described [73:3]); but such sense questionable; read probably with Houb La for לָ֑חֶם יַשְׂבִּעֵמוֺ הלם, עמו ישיב satisfies them with bread: compare Che HupNow. [Gen 16:13] = here; but here also text is dubious: v Di. [Judg 14:15] read הֲלֹם for הֲלֹא: see הֲ
