2. metaph., worship idolatrously, τὸ ξύλον καὶ τὸν λίθον LXX Jer 3:9.

II intr., commit adultery, Xenoph. 11.3; ἐμοίχευσάς τι Ar. Nu. 1076, cf. X. Mem. 2.1.5, Arist. EN 1129b21.

III metaph., in fut. Med. (in pass. sense), οὐ μοιχεύσεταί μου τὰ φιλήματα her kisses shall not be adulterously stolen from me, Ach.Tat. 4.8.

Jer 3:9, etc.
