I trans., make slow, delay, LXX Isa 46:13: - Pass., to be delayed, τἀπὸ σοῦ βραδύνεται S. OC 1628; ἡ δ’ ὁδὸς βραδύνεται Id. El. 1501.

II intr., loiter, delay, εἰ βραδύνοιμεν βοῇ A. Supp. 730 (so in Med., χεῖρα δ’ οὐ βραδύνεται.. ἁρπάσαι δόρυ Id. Th. 623); μὴ βράδυνε S. Ph. 1400; σπεύδων.. βραδύνω Pl. R. 528d: c. inf., Polyaen. 1.48.4; βραδύνει σοι τοῦτο; are you slow, slack in this ? Philostr. Im. 1.6.
