H. צָמָה), [Deut 28:48]; [Neh 9:15]; [2Chr 32:11]; of wild asses [Psa 104:11], of fish בַּצּ ׳וְתָמֹת [Isa 50:2], but read perhaps (or בַּצְּמֵאָה) בַּצָּמֵא וּבְהֶמְתָּם GunkSchöpf. 98 CheHpt Marti (compare [44:3] below following); figurative of grief of exile [41:17], compare וְצָמָא צִיָּה אֶרֶץ [Ezek 19:13]; with ל, thirst for water [Amos 8:11]. — ׳בַּצּ [Jer 48:18] is probably corrupt; read perhaps לָאָרֶץ (Gie), or בֶּעָפָר.
