1 literally bridle, for animals; לַחֲמוֺר מֶתֶג [Prov 26:3] a whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, etc.; ׳בְּמ וָרֶסֶן [Psa 32:9] with bridle and halter (on text of verse compare Che); of ׳י's birdle for Sennach. (under figure of beast), בִּשְׂפָתֶיךָ וּמִתְגִּי [2Kin 19:28] and I will put (וְשַׂמְתִּי) my hook in thy nose and my bridle in thy lips = [Isa 37:29] (see DrIs. ed. 2, 220).
