ἐλεγξεως, ἡ (ἐλέγχω, which see), refutation, rebuke; (Vulg.correptio; Augustine,convictio): ἔλεγξιν ἔσχεν ἰδίας παρανομίας, he was rebuked for his own transgression, [2Pe 2:16]. (Philostr. vit.
